Meet our Doctors
Dr. Jay Waite
Dr. Jay Waite is a 1982 graduate of UAH and a 1987 graduate of the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. He opened Cornerstone Animal Hospital in 1992 in Madison, Alabama and it was founded upon the philosophy of veterinary medicine with a servant's heart. The goal of this practice has always been to serve the community.
Dr. Waite married his high school sweetheart, Dr. Angelia Waite, a doctoral graduate from Dallas, TX. Dr. Jay and Angelia have three sons: Benji (Huntsville), Chandler (Houston), and Ramsey (1996-2000). The Waite family celebrates the new addition to their family, Dr. Mitra Waite. She and Benji married April 10, 2021 and reside in Huntsville, AL.
In Dr. Waite's free time he enjoys riding his Harley and traveling with his wife.
Dr. Robert Skidmore
Dr. Robert Skidmore is a 2001 graduate of Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. He joined Cornerstone in May, 2014. His veterinary special interests include oncology and endocrinology.
Dr. Skidmore is married to Beth Skidmore and they have a daughter, Malia, and son, Michael.
Away from the clinic, Dr. Skidmore enjoys working out and riding his Harley.
Tenchi
He came to us in October of 2019. We estimate him to be born in 2000, he is an Amazon parrot weighing between 600-700 grams. His favorite activity is terrorizing the staff and talking with the dogs. His favorite snacks are dried papaya and watermelon.
Chester
Our resident Grumpy Old Man cat came to us in 2021 as an owner surrender. We estimate him to be born in late 2007. His favorite activity is sitting on important files and begging for treats. His favorite snacks are wet food and catit lickable treats.
